Content Ideas For Virtual Assistants: Easy Ways To Combine Topics With Your Expertise

It can be hard to find great content ideas for Virtual Assistants – especially if you’re new to the VA Industry. However, creating valuable content that shares your expertise is one of the best ways to attract your dream clients. So I wrote this post to help you get started with ease.

A Quick Definition Of “Content Marketing”.

It’s part of the digital marketing umbrella and one of the 5 must-haves every online business should be embracing. The top 5 are:

  • Websites
  • Sales funnels
  • Email marketing
  • Content marketing
  • Social media marketing

Your Content’s Goal

It’s important to remember that ALL the content you create is directly related to what you’re selling (your services). The goal of your content is:

  • To share your expertise.
  • To help solve a problem or educate your target market.

Traditional marketing was all about telling people how you can help them – content marketing is all about showing them. Talk is cheap – show them you can help them by creating content. (them = your target market).

The Type Of Content

You can create content in a variety of ways:

  • Written such as blogs or articles.
  • Visual such as Pinterest pins or Instagram stories.
  • Video such as YouTube videos or FB Lives.
  • Audio such as podcasts.

The key here is to pick a method that is easy for you to create. For example, if you love talking, start a podcast, if you enjoy writing start a blog, etc. Don’t pick what you don’t enjoy because you won’t do it!

Now you know the different types of content you can create and that all the content you share is based on your services.

Simple Content Ideas For Virtual Assistants

These simple ideas are the same ones I use myself so I know they work.

#1 – Topics

These “topics” are the ones that people are always searching for online. Here’s what you do simply pick one of the below “topics” and then use it to create your content.

  • Best practices.
  • Mistakes to avoid.
  • Top 10.
  • Shortcuts or hacks.
  • How to get started.

#2 – Expertise

Let’s say one of your services (aka your expertise) is WordPress. Pick one of the above topics like “mistakes to avoid” and create a piece of content focusing on mistakes to avoid.

  • Mistakes to avoid when picking a theme.
  • Mistakes to avoid when selecting a hosting provider.

The key is having an understanding of what your market is struggling with when it comes to your expertise. That is what you create content for.

#3 – Topic + Expertise

For example, “Mistakes to avoid + WordPress”. That is your topic combined with one of the ideas above.

  • Top 10 reasons you need a WordPress website for your business.
  • Best practices for writing your “About Me” page.
  • Mistakes to avoid when adding plugins.
  • Best hacks for installing WordPress.
  • How to get started using WordPress.

The beauty of this is it takes the guesswork out of what to write about and gives you a place to start. You can even combine them:

  • Top 10 mistakes to avoid….
  • Top 10 shortcuts for…

So now you have some content ideas for Virtual Assistants including what type of content to create along with a few topics. It’s time to get busy creating your content. I’d love to know what you’re going to start with, please leave a comment and let me know.
