Are Your Potential Virtual Assistant Clients (AKA Your Target Market) Aware That Your Biz Exists?

Your potential Virtual Assistant clients can’t buy your products or services if they don’t know about them. So, what activities are you doing to bring awareness to your business? Writing blogs or sharing videos? Awareness is the first step in finding clients, and then getting them to sign on the dotted line.

For many people, this is the hardest part of being an entrepreneur “Putting themselves out there”. It’s a huge fear and one that you need to learn to manage and conquer if you want more potential Virtual Assistant clients for your business.

Believe it or not, there are people looking for you and what you offer. You’re doing them a disservice by not letting them know all about you. So, how do you push through your fear and get out there? Remember, if you want clients – they have to know about you.

For me, the best way is to face the fear head-on. Admit you’re scared and then do it anyway! Ask yourself what’s the worst that can happen? Many times we let our fear blow things up in our minds when in reality it’s not even close. It takes practice but you can do it!

Embrace Digital Marketing

There are many different ways that you can market your business.  The most important thing to do is embrace all things marketing. It’s what ALL successful businesses (online and offline) use to, well be successful.

Since we’re in the “Digital” space we’ll focus on Digital Marketing which means creating content. Now I’m not saying you have to create volumes of content, but you do need to create some content to help your potential Virtual Assistant clients know that you exist. Remember, marketing is all about awareness, not sales, and that’s where people get confused.

7 Ways To Bring Awareness To Your Biz

Here are 7 simple and proven ways to make your potential Virtual Assistant clients aware of you and your business. They’re easy – you can pick one and get started today.

#1 – Tell Everyone You Know

Friends, family, co-workers, neighbors, and people in the line with you at the grocery store. Shout it from the rooftops. You want to tell everyone because you never know where a referral may come from.

#2 – Benefits Flyer™

Create a Benefits Flyer and hand them out while you’re telling everyone about your business. They’re great conversation starters and will help you get comfortable talking about your business.

#3 – Local Networking Events

Go to a local networking event and start a conversation. These are a great way to meet people and get out of your house. Don’t forget to hand out your Benefits Flyers™ too!

#4 – Lead Magnet

Add an awesome freebie (aka Lead Magnet) to your website that solves a problem for your target market. It’s the first step in your Virtual Assistant Sales Funnel and a great way to build a sales pipeline of potential Virtual Assistant clients.

#5 – Blogging

Start a monthly blog post that focuses on your expertise and then share it on social media where your target market hangs out. Be sure to share it on all your social media platforms and email newsletter list too!

#6 – YouTube

Start a YouTube channel and post a series of how-to videos on your expertise. These are great for techie-type services. Start sharing!

#7 – Podcast

Start a weekly podcast and post tips and tricks related to your services. Believe it or not, there is an audience out there looking for what you have to say. If you like to talk podcasts are the way to go!

Now, pick one and get started! I’d love to hear from you. Feel free to post below and let me know what activity you picked from the list above. All comments and questions are welcome.

If you use them, they will come!! I started with the most obvious, telling friends and family (well everyone really). The Benefits Flyer was more of a challenge simply as a matter of design, but that was sorted easily after watching the ‘Creating a Benefits Flyer’ video. I’m currently developing several freebies and will make them available shortly, thanks to another blog ‘5 Awesome Ideas for Your Freebies’. I still need to work on the others; I don’t know why, but I find networking events more intimidating than talking to random strangers, and I need to learn how to edit my ‘how to manuals’ into ‘how to guides’, and finally … video is beyond terrifying (getting in front of the camera, ugh – listening to my recorded voice, UGH!!).

You can do it Michael, as they say… success is just outside your comfort zone. My best advice is don’t think about – just do it. I know easier said than done but that first step is always the hardest. Be sure to share it with me 😉
