Virtual Assistant Rate Calculator: Know Your Unique Minimum Rate To Ensure You Make A Living

Using a Virtual Assistant rate calculator will help you to discover YOUR baseline rate. A number that’s fundamental to your business and your circumstances. Doing this exercise will help you to understand why asking others what to charge for your services is a dead end.

Let’s chat about rates and how much to charge. To me, this is the most important part of running a business besides the systems. If you get this wrong, you’ll be out of business quickly. That’s why it’s so important NOT to ask others what to charge or follow others’ bad advice when they tell you to charge $25 or $35 an hour if you’re unsure.

Please understand that there is NO one size fits all rate for the VA industry or for that fact ANY industry. Rates are subjective. What do I mean by subjective? Well, each person has a different baseline or minimum rate they must charge in order to earn a living. It’s not the same for me as it is for you. So do the work to find your unique baseline rate.

This is where my Rate Calculation Sheet comes into the conversation. I created a simple to use template full of built-in formulas to help you find yours. You’ll find the button below to download a copy for free.

If you need help using it, I’ve created a how-to video over on my YouTube channel that walks you thru it in detail. You can watch it here.

Oh… and you can actually use this same Virtual Assistant rate calculator spreadsheet to figure out your “goal” rate. That way you have two rates. Your baseline rate and your “wish” rate if you will. Simply save two copies of the spreadsheet and then get started.

Keep in mind even if you’re not charging by the hour, your baseline hourly rate factors into every pricing decision you make. So be sure you know yours or have a look at my Ultimate VA Success Guide: How To Calculate Your Virtual Assistant Rates + Create Packages if you need more details.

Have you already used my Virtual Assistant rate calculator sheet? I’d love to know. All comments and questions are welcome.
